Barnes & Noble is launching the second annual Get Pop-Cultured with Barnes & Noble celebration on July 1, a month-long series of events you won’t want to miss. Get Pop-Cultured with Barnes & Noble was first established in 2014 to bring to life customers’ favorite books, characters, movies, artists, illustrators and pop-culture icons with themed events, author signings, panel discussions, contests, exclusive content, giveaways and prizes, sneak peeks, activities, and more. Half-Price Game Wednesdays

Maple Grove Days

As summer kicks into high-gear, it’s time again for our annual summertime celebration, Maple Grove Days. Join your neighbors for five days of community excitement with competitions, parades, stage performances and much more for all ages to enjoy. Don’t miss the Art Fair and Business Expo on July 11. Maple Grove Community Organization Meeting

Take part in volunteering with this great community organization to bring year-round fun and activities to the citizens of the area. This group has been promoting city heritage and fostering community pride since 1988. It provides a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, work closely with your neighbors and add a line on your resume. Dog Adoption Event

Each year, there are an abundance of homeless or unwanted animals looking for a loving family to take them in as their own. Ruff Start Rescue, a Minnesota-based non-profit organization, hosts dozens of pet adoption events throughout the state each year, and on June 15, they will host a day-long adoption event at the PetSmart of Maple Grove. Take a Grown-up to Camp

June 16-18  Double-up on the fun and explore the natural wonders of the Eastman Nature Center for a morning of wildlife camp fun. Groups can venture into the woods in search of native bugs, animals and various other forms of wildlife. After trekking the trails of the Eastman Nature Center, stop inside for bug bingo and fun crafting activities, including a take-home pond kit, treasure box and natural photo frame with a picture of you and your camper. Phone reservations are required. Ages 2–5. $90 for adult-child pair and $65 per additional child, and a $1 Wonder Fund donation. Read more about Take a Grown-up to Camp

Minnesota PlayCleanGo Day

Spend a day giving back to the environment by learning easy ways to preserve parks, trails and recreation sites while stopping the spread of land-based invasive diseases. Participants take home a free boot brush (while supplies last) as well as invasive species information to help with future identification and removal of invasives. The afternoon concludes with a guided tour to learn wildlife identification techniques as well as a scavenger hunt.
